"This article sparked my interest due to the title. As I read it over, a few pieces of it struck me and I felt very excited about being in this technoloby master's program. Technology provides "a classroom without walls or limitations for pursuing information." "Because many new technologies are interactive, it is now easier to create environments in which students can learn by doing, receive feedback, and continually refine their understanding and build new knowledge." Project-based learning is so fun and valuable. Students learn most through their own exploration and discoveries. I was excited to see how blogging was used very practically as a reflection piece after a project.
I felt that this article was beneficial to me becuase it had a lengthy list of ideas for use of the SMART board. I will be getting one in my classroom later this year, and am excited to know that there are endless possibilities for teacher created lessons too.
I enjoyed this article becuase I have always understood that using music to teach is such a valuable tool, but I struggle to take the time to incorporate it into my lessons. Throughout this technology program I hope that I am able to take the time and learn quick and easy ways to find and use music with my students.
This article got me thinking...My husband and I were having a discussion recently when he was taking an online class. We both prefer a hard copy when we are reading, and much of the material now is on the computer for you to read. A point that I found interesting was that from the author's point of view the programs we have on the computer may become outdated much like video tapes and film strips. Will our memories be lost or need an upgrade?
